Project Overview

"If Crowns You Seek" is an original short animation that explores themes of greed. This moralistic fable presents the idea that bad things can happen to people that are overly ambitious.

Inspiration & Process

A huge inspiration for me was that liminal sense of space found in Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away. This inspiration bled into my prcoess, in that I started at the storyboarding stage (after designing my character and bit of waffling), like how Hayao Miyazaki does it. Since I didn't have much time for this project, I was forced to use limited animation. Instead, I used parralax to create interest.
